Vintage 1950's Boy & Girl Dolls dressed in Japanese Kimonos w/Woven Basket All Bisque. Listed are two Japanese children dressed in their original factory silk kimonos. They come in their original woven basket. Vintage from the 1940's - 50's. This item was used as a souvenir from San Francisco China Town and also from overseas.
They are all Porcelain Bisque dolls with jointed arms and legs. Hand painted facial features and painted shoes. The young boy has a single braid going down the back of his head. No markings that I can find. The dolls are wearing their original Factory clothing.Their sweet faces are nice and bright. The girl has a small amount of black paint loss in her hair due to the fabric and beaded headband were glued and it moved.
I couldn't find or feel any cracks or broken bisque. The clothes are sewn onto the dolls and are not meant to be taken off. The stringing is very good. Their clothes have no fading, holes, rips, stains, or repairs. The woven basket looks great with no broken weaving.
Colors are very nice too. Please refer to the pictures as they are part of the description. Dolls come from no smoking, no pets environment. They measure 3 1/2 long. They are getting to be hard to find.
Bisque, silk material, paint, beads. They would be a great addition to any doll collection.
