Original Vtg The Clash - Black Market Clash - 29.75" x 48". I understand this poster was designed by the band. So, Paul Simenon I guess? To promote this 1980 CBS 12 compilation EP. T's unusual as promo poster as it's a really good quality off-set lithograph, in beautiful matt poster inks - and on high grade heavier paper almost a card?

Which thinking about it, wouldn't have made it that easy for actual outdoor, fly-posting purposes? In fact, the quality is more like that of an art poster - and therefore perfect for framing. I've long come to the conclusion (rightly or wrongly), that CBS probably treated this poster as more the band's little vanity project...

And, may be as a result of timing/distribution? , it's scale quite large for general use? & its heavier grade paper.

I assume the ones you now see being offered were from a small batch that languished in some printer's storeroom somewhere? And, as a result, the ones that do come up for sale generally seem to be in better/unused condition. And this particular poster is. Always rolled, and clearly never used for display or later framing. With absolutely no fading, dings, scuffs or rippling.

And acquired by me in around 2006-7 from a punk collector who'd had it for many years. And everything he'd ever collected was was v good quality & totally authentic. And it has been stored carefully ever-since: Rolled - in a poster tube, in cool, dry, dark conditions. This poster now deserves to be properly displayed & enjoyed - and would look particularly good in a modern interior. In the Mid-90s I collected Vintage Movie Posters: All being offered here have been carefully stored, in poster tubes in cool, dry clean conditions since. Concurrently & subsequently I have collected a number of rock & travel posters - again, all being offered are originals only.
