Franklin Mint Guardian of the Nile figurine and matching base with certificate of authenticity and information sheet, produced in 1989. The figurine has been designed by Roushdy Iskander Garas.
The figurine is pristine, with no chips, cracks, scratches or restoration. It has been produced in a rich black porcelain and is hand painted in 22 carat gold. It is an effigy of Bast, an egyptian cat god that symbolized life, prosperity, abundance and love and was believed to protect the nation from evil and bring good luck. The matching base is also pristine on the outside.
There is a slight mark under the felt pad on the top of the base that may be adhesive trace, but is invisible with the felt pad in place. The figurine is 12 inches high and the base 4 inches high.
