1920s nude risque stereoviews, tabletop stereoscope, French, Gaumont of Paris

  

An antique tabletop stereoscope by Gaumont & Cie of Paris, dating to around 1920, together with a collection of seventeen somewhat risqué glass stereopositives dating to the same era. Metal construction with original crackled brown paint to the outside, internally fitted with a sprung slide change mechanism that is operated by the circular handle to the side (rotate clockwise to bring a slide into view, and counterclockwise to advance the mechanism). The other control lever is for precise focusing adjustment. The instrument is complete with three Bakelite slide carriages, embossed. Each with capacity for 20 slides. 17 Slides included, each measuring 6cm x 13cm. The instrument stands 34cm high. Please read the condition report.
